Our recent graduation of 12 trainees has meant that we have managed to create 614 jobs throught the Fusion21 Skills Programme. The Fusion21 Skills Programme provides training and creates jobs for people looking to enter a profession and gain skills in the construction industry.
Over a course of two weeks, participants in the scheme are trained in First Aid, Manual Handling, Health & Safety, PASMA, and are able to get CSCS cards. These qualifications help the apprentices develop their working skills and help to make them valuable assets to future employers.
The apprentice opportunities are found through the construction contracts that Fusion21 awards to its approved contractors and suppliers.
Fusion21 helps the Registered Social Landlords it works with to save money and generate efficiencies on improvement and maintenance works taking place in homes. With these savings Fusion21 helps to create as many training and employment opportunities for local people as possible.
Plus Dane housing, The Regenda group, Riverside Midlands. Helena Partnerships, Irwell Valley, High Peaks and Wirral Partnership Homes are helping to create jobs with Seddons, HT Forrest, Bagnalls and Apollo Heating as a result of the construction contracts they are awarding.
The 12 apprentices taking part in the graduation were trained at Fusion21’s construction workshop and Skill centre based in Link Road, Huyton.
After the graduation, trainee painter Jennifer Young,23, told us “ I’ve been looking for work for over 2 years and haven’t been able to find anything. I had heard of Fusion21 in the past so rang them up and asked if they had any opportunities. The skills team took my details and a few weeks later gave me a call to tell me about the apprenticeships they had available. ”
“I was ecstatic when they rang and nearly broke into tears as I‘ve been looking for something for so long. I’ve been on courses similar to the one Fusion21 offers in the past, but in my experience the Fusion21 course is by far the best. It’s brilliant that they send you on high quality courses such as PASMA.”
Jennifer added “I’m so happy that I’ve managed to get an apprenticeship through Fusion21, it gives me a chance to develop a career, it’s more than just a job.”
