Working in partnership with Helena Partnerships, Knowsley Housing Trust, Liverpool Mutual Homes, Regenda, Wirral Partnership we have produced a number of films for residents.
The films created through the Local Energy Assessment Fund (LEAF) funding, offers residents practical hands on advice around the new measures installed in their homes. The idea to produce a suite of films emerged through consultation with registered providers and their residents who raised a number of concerns regarding the understanding of energy efficiency and the effective use of technologies once installed.
Fusion21 have consulted over 200 residents through surveys and focus groups to understand resident barriers to the take up of energy efficiency measures, from pre- installation through to in- use. From this research residents expressed a number of concerns around a lack of knowledge, concerns that the technology would not work and that they would not know how to use it once installed.
Sharon Chahal, Resident Insite Coordinator, Fusion21, said, “I am delighted that we have been awarded the funding through LEAF. This an excellent opportunity for the project team to deliver an educational tool which differs from those currently available on the market with content and format designed according to residents needs.
Not only will the films provide an innovative way in which to engage residents within retrofit and help eliminate a number of resident barriers, they can hopefully be used as a training tool for residents, volunteers and staff."
