Fusion21 attends Procurement Clinic in Belfast for Invest Northern Ireland

Dave Johnson, Fusion21 Integration Manager, and David Oates, Supply Chain Manager for Wates Living Space went to Belfast to offer specialist advice to a number of contractors and suppliers who are signed up to the clinic.

Invest Northern Ireland commissioned work to undertake a review of opportunities in the GB social housing market for companies in Northern Ireland who wished to develop business in the sector.

As a result of this Invest NI arranged a follow-up event for a small number of companies, in the form of a one-to-one advice clinic. They invited Fusion21 to meet with the companies, and offer advice making comments on the company’s products, competitive advantage, and the barriers which needed to be overcome before a company could become successful on a framework.

The group of contractors and suppliers that attended the event where as follows: Clarehill Plastics, Brookvent, Solasyphon, New World Developments, Creagh Concrete, JJ Higgins, McAvoy Group, Nu-Tech Renewables, Kingspan Renewables, Camden Glass, Rainvault, Springvale EPS.

Invest NI’s Margaret Cunningham said: “The meet the buyer for the GB social housing sector was very well received by all the companies who took part.”

She further added, “David Johnson of Fusion21 offered a real insight into the needs of housing association buyers in GB and the considerations made when taking decisions on future social housing refurbishment programmes. The businesses found it extremely useful to learn about the procurement process and how it could be applied to their own individual product or service. Armed with this knowledge, we hope that NI based companies can further develop their capabilities so they are positioned as strongly as possible to secure new business in GB.”

The event was an excellent opportunity for Fusion21 to provide insight for the companies in the purchasing process tailored to meet the individual companies’ needs.

Dave Johnson, Fusion21 Integration Manager added, “It was an excellent opportunity to work with the NI Development Agency and to see the best of the contractor and supplier products available. Hopefully we have provided some advice as to how those companies can expand and work throughout the whole of the UK”.
