Fusion21 continues with Retrofit Research

As part of the Fusion 21 retrofit Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme with Salford University we have undertaken a significant amount of market analysis over the past few months.

Since the retrofit agenda is very much in its infancy, we feel strongly about the importance of sharing knowledge and experiences. Under ‘retrofit initiatives’ on our website you will be able to find some reports that we trust you will find of interest. These include:

A Review of Retrofit Technologies - This report seeks to identify the current and near market technologies currently on offer in the retrofit market. Through desk research, study of exemplar pilot projects and engagement with RPs, findings seek to identify the viable approaches to whole-house retrofit and outline broad cost, performance, operation and maintenance issues associated with the technologies and methods.

Drivers and Barriers for Registered Providers - This report identifies how the sustainable retrofit problem is perceived by RPs in terms of the commercial and business drivers and in terms of their strategy and stock issues. Through close engagement with our client base and in-depth market research, findings highlight the significant barriers obstructing the uptake of retrofit measures and recognise the primary drivers that are likely to form a viable business case for RPs.

An Analysis of Policy and International Best Practice - Through desk research and contact with policy makers, regulators and representative bodies; this report evaluates current policy relating to social housing and energy efficiency at an international, national (UK) and regional level. The report identifies current policy objectives, how they relate to the retrofit agenda, and explores international experiences. The report presents a grounding in past and present policy, whilst providing an understanding of the likely future policy landscape, and the implications this will have on the sector. We trust you will find the policy timeline we have created of particular interest.

You will also find the results from our national retrofit survey undertaken with Procurement for Housing.
