Shelter selected as our annual charity

Fusion21 have selected Shelter, the charity for housing & homelessness to be our nominated charity for the year. Shelter is a charity that works to alleviate the distress caused by homelessness and bad housing.

Fusion21 will be holding fundraising events throughout the year to raise funds to support the positive work the charity does.

Dave Neilson, Chief Executive, Fusion21 said, “Shelter is a charity that believes everyone should have a home, and actively campaign for decent housing for all. Their aims link very closely with those of Fusion21 and our partners. This year we hope to promote the work of the charity through our own fundraising activities and hope that we will be able to make a viable contribution to their cause.”

Luke Smith, KTP Associate at Fusion21 is participating in the first fundraising event for the charity. Luke will be cycling the entire length of Great Britain from John O’Groats to Lands End.

Luke added, “On April 21st 2011 I will be cycling the entire length of Great Britain unassisted; covering over 950 miles from the top of Scotland - John O'Groats, down to the tip of England - Land’s End.

I aim to complete the ride in under 10 days, averaging roughly 90 miles a day. Having been knocked down by a car whilst training just two months ago- this is without doubt a tough challenge.”

All money raised will be donated to Shelter, to aid their vital work with homeless and badly housed people throughout Britain. Every year Shelter helps more than 170,000 people with a range of housing problems find and keep a home, giving them security and hope.
