Tom Peers (20), Luke Edmondson (16) and Joe Mercer (16) have all secured positions with the Liberty Group as Apprentice Gas Engineers.
The jobs were created through the Fusion21 Skills Programme which looks to create employment opportunities from the procurement investments of our clients. Due to contracts being awarded to the Liberty Group via the Fusion21 Gas Servicing Framework three job opportunities have been created.
Steve Watson, Operations Manager, Liberty Gas Group said, “We aim to provide a high quality customer focussed service and to support the local communities in which we are working. Part of our commitment to Fusion21 is to create training opportunities for these communities; we currently have over 35 apprentices working with us at various stages of their training.”
He further added, “As a framework partner Liberty are proud supporters of Fusion21. We have employed a further three trainees who have recently completed the Skills Programme with Fusion21. Tom, Luke and Joe will now complete a full term apprenticeship with Liberty, over the next three years and on completion they will be ACS qualified and Gas Safe registered.”
Jan Agger, Head of Training & Employment at Fusion21 said, “The three trainees attended the Fusion21 Skills programme to get them work ready in time to start their full time employment with the Liberty Group. During their time with us we provided them with training in the Fusion21 workshop, health & safety qualifications and a CSCS card.
The Fusion21 Skills Programme has been successful over the years as we not only provide trainees with an insight into day to day employment, but we also equip them with softer skills needed to adapt into their new jobs. In addition to this we provide them with support and continue to monitor Fusion21 Skills Graduates throughout their working life.
These latest opportunities have demonstrated the power of working in collaboration with our clients and supply chain, and shown that even in times of hardship we can continue to create opportunities by ensuring social clauses are implemented into procurement contracts.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish Tom, Luke and Joe the best of luck in their future careers.”
