London & Quadrant (L&Q) accessed our Painting & Cyclical Repairs framework in January 2013; with a predicted investment of £1.9M in this workstream two contracts were awarded to Seddons and MITIE.
L&Q used the framework as they wanted to mobilise on- site quickly and efficiently, working with the Fusion21 team enabled them to do this. More importantly the partnership between both organisations enabled over 5 jobs to be created for local residents.
Seddons employed 3 residents to work on the project through the Fusion21 recruitment agency, Employer Pool and MITIE directly employed 2 local residents through the scheme. Fusion21 facilitated this process and ensured the supply chain partners created job opportunities.
Richard Penney, Contracts Manager, MITIE Property Services, talks about one of the residents he employed, “ Andrew Whitticker started work with us on the London Quadrant Project, he integrated well with our existing team and quickly became a key member, Andrew is a hard working character and is a very good decorator.
Early on he showed attributes that make a good foreman and expressed an interest in managing jobs.
Our contracts supervisor Niall Brennan is planning on giving Andrew a trial run as a Charge hand with the potential of becoming a full time foreman. Niall and I have been very happy with Andrew’s attitude and commitment to his job and we both feel pleased with the candidates put forward by Fusion21.”
