High School Students Benefit from Added Social Value

Fusion21 member POBL Group has awarded a 4-year contract to leading mechanical heating and electrical service provider PH Jones, after accessing our Heating Systems Framework.

The project will provide the installation of new central heating systems to various properties across Wales – which is due for completion in March 2023.

As part of its contract and commitment to delivering social value, PH Jones attended Newport High School to assist 14 pupils from year 13 with mock job interviews. A total of seven organisations participated to interview approximately 100 students from the school. Of the students 90% will be going to university with the remaining students considering apprenticeships or positions within a working environment.

The day was set up to provide students with a taste of formal interviews, using CV's and competency based interview questions. Interviewers provided feedback for the students to help them improve, setting them up for interview success in their chosen paths.

Victoria Burston-Yeates, Business Engagement Advisor at Careers Wales said: “I just want to say a huge thank you to PH Jones for supporting the mock interviews. The day was very successful with the students gaining a wealth of experience going forwards.”
