South Tyneside Council Extends Lord Blyton Nursery with a Modular Building

Lord Blyton’s Nursery in South Shields has extended its premises after Fusion21 member South Tyneside Council accessed our Modular Buildings Framework.

Wernick Buildings Ltd was awarded a contract worth £326,000 to undertake the works – including refurbishment - which were required to accommodate Lord Blyton’s 2018 September intake.

John Farley, Framework Manager (Construction) at Fusion21 said: “With works being completed in just a two month period, we’re delighted that Lord Blyton Nursery was able to access a flexible and sustainable procurement solution to increase its classroom capacity.”

Laura Hood, Category Manager at South Tyneside Council added: “Accessing Fusion21’s Modular Buildings Framework enabled us to procure via an OJEU compliant route to market, and we have benefited from a faster build turnaround - which was ideal when additional learning space was urgently required.”
