Wokingham BC access Roofing framework for 100 homes

Wokingham Borough Council approached Fusion21 to procure specialist roofing work.

With a requirement to replace the existing zinc roof coverings, rainwater goods and external painting to over 100 houses and bungalows of the Courts estate in Winnersh, Wokingham undertook a Direct Award to the top ranked supplier in the South East region.

Simon Glass, Programme Manager at Fusion21, said: “The works were procured efficiently, with value for money at the forefront of commissioning, while ensuring OJEU-compliance was demonstrated in order to meet the tight timescales necessary as part of the works was funded by the Homes and Communities Agency.”

An additional benefit to Wokingham came from Fusion21’s commitment to quality customer service as it demonstrated value for money was being achieved by approaching non-framework zinc roofing contractors to provide comparison costs. Following an analysis of the prices, top ranked suppliers cost submission was shown to be within 0.3% of those of the alternative quotations which demonstrated complete competitiveness in the marketplace.

Work started in November 2015 and was completed in March 2015.
