Fusion21 Foundation backs £9 million WorkerTech fund to improve lives at work

The Fusion21 Foundation is proud to be an investor in the WorkerTech fund, launched by Resolution Ventures to support startups using technology to improve workers’ lives in sectors facing low pay and insecure employment.

By joining this £9 million fund alongside other social investors, the Fusion21 Foundation is helping scale startups that create real, measurable impact for workers.

Previous WorkerTech initiatives have reached millions, improving pay, addressing workplace inequality, and opening doors for underrepresented groups in traditionally male-dominated sectors.

The fund backs early-stage companies at the pre-seed and seed stages, supporting innovations such as:

•    Apps that enable workers to collectively negotiate better pay.
•    Platforms connecting skilled tradeswomen with job opportunities.
•    Legal tech empowering workers to resolve workplace issues.

Jo Hannan, Head of the Fusion21 Foundation, said:We’re delighted to support the WorkerTech fund. It puts workers at the heart of innovation and aligns closely with the Foundation’s core priorities — Employment and Skills, and Financial Inclusion and Resilience. This investment is a great example of how we can make a tangible difference for people in work, while encouraging innovation that benefits whole communities.”

Ruth Curtice, Chief Executive of the Resolution Foundation, added: The Resolution Foundation has always sought to understand the UK labour market and propose ways to improve jobs, pay, and conditions. While policymakers can make a difference, so can individuals and companies. Resolution Ventures has a strong record of backing pioneering startups that have positively impacted hundreds of thousands of workers. This new fund allows us to have an even bigger impact.

Through this investment, the Fusion21 Foundation continues to support innovation that benefits workers and communities alike.
