The Commercial Heating (All) Lot provides public sector organisations with access to specialist suppliers delivering the design, installation, servicing, maintenance and testing of commercial heating systems. Covering a wide range of heating, mechanical and electrical installations, this Lot supports safe, efficient and fully compliant heating provision across public sector estates. 

What are the required accreditations?

To ensure quality, safety and regulatory compliance, suppliers appointed to this Lot must hold the following organisational accreditations and memberships:

  • Registered on the Data Protection Public Register (ICO)
  • Gas Safe Registration
  • Membership of a competent person scheme for solid fuel, such as HETAS
  • Membership of a competent person scheme for oil, such as OFTEC
  • Membership of a competent person scheme for heat pumps, such as MCS
  • Membership of a competent person scheme for installation of fixed low or extra-low voltage electrical installations in dwellings, such as NICEIC or NAPIT

These accreditations provide assurance that works are delivered in line with industry standards and current legislation.

Mandatory personnel criteria

Suppliers must ensure that operatives hold relevant and in-date qualifications and professional training, including: 

  • Cat A Asbestos Awareness (UKATA or equivalent) within the last two years
  • CCN1 – Core Domestic Gas Safety
  • CPA1 – Combustion Performance Analysis
  • CENWAT – Central Heating Boilers and Water Heaters
  • COCN1 – Core Commercial Gas Safety
  • CONGLP1 HTRLP2 – Closed Flue Gas Fires (LPG)
  • CIGA1 – Indirect Fired Commercial Appliance
  • CDGA1 – Direct Fired Commercial Appliances
  • CORT1 – Overhead Radiant Tube and Radiant Plaque Heaters
  • ICPN1 – Installation First Fix on Commercial Pipework
  • CODNC01 – Changeover Domestic to Commercial Gas
  • TPCP1A – Testing and Purging of Pipework less than 1m³
  • TPCP1 – Testing and Purging of Pipework greater than 1m³ where required 
  • LPG Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) work categories
  • OFT10-101, OFT10-102D/W, OFT105E, OFT10-600a and OFT10-201 (or recognised industry equivalent) for oil and bio-liquid fuel systems
  • Instructed Person status as defined in BS7671:2018
  • Skilled Person status as defined in BS7671:2018
  • C&G 2382 and C&G 2391, or recognised industry equivalent
  • F-Gas qualification where required
  • H005 Biomass Course where required
  • UHWSS – Hot Water Systems and Safety (G3) where required
  • Award in the installation and maintenance of solar thermal hot water where required
  • Associated manufacturer training where required
  • Water regulations training

Engineers must hold the appropriate ACS work categories when working on supplementary appliances, including commercially sized laundry and catering equipment.

These requirements ensure works are delivered safely, competently and in accordance with regulatory standards.
